Task 3.1: Organize a workshop for experts on high resolution weather models, to obtain valuable informations about model settings etc.

Task 3.2: Run simulations of selected extreme events using WRF in a convection permitting setup. Experiment with different model settings.

Task 3.3: Compare wind fields at various scales and detect biases, differences, and similarities and estimate the uncertainties. With forest stand and wind damage data from Task 2.2 we will (i) analyse the capability of weather models to reconstruct wind gust speed information that explains the confirmed damage events, and (ii) develop proxies to improve the accuracy of spatially explicit wind gust speed information.

Task 3.4: Derive proxies or thresholds of wind-speed for wind disturbances for various scales of weather-/ and climate models. If required scale wind-speed

Task 3.5: Format model output to suit the needs of the dynamic ecosystem model (Tmin, Tmax, Tmean, precip, global radiation, watervapor pressure deficit, windspeed)
